“All I wanted was a wish fulfilled. Nothing much, just a small wish. Sometimes those unfulfilled wishes leave you broken forever. Perhaps, that’s what I deserved. But, wait. What did I do to deserve this betrayal? But I can’t even blame you for being natural. Your memories will remain with me forever. We hold onto memories for as long as we can, good and bad alike. Your memories sure comfort me and they let me roll down the lane to those times we have had together but it is like the scent of rose which will disappear after a few days leaving you with some dried petals to keep in its remembrance. Oh, you are that rose and you have done that to me again. Oh rose, let me live — I don’t want to dwell in your memories but live the time with you. I recognized your significance long ago then why do I deserve your be-dilli (half-heartedness). ”

“I thought you were the kind I wanted. I wanted someone who could understand me as I was. Perhaps, it is me who did not understand that it was life – full of things we often don’t like and end up with. Things don’t go the way we want them to be. Is this all life holds for us? Maybe. Maybe not. I want this to go the way I want it to be. Forever. I feel helpless at times. But I can’t help it. No one is ready to listen to my side of story. That is why I curl up my hands, bow down my head and pray. I pray to the One who listens. After all, He is the only one who ever listened.”
Ai Kash!
Ai dost,
Main jab bhi tujhe dekhti hu’n,
Aur jab bhi tujhe sochti hu’n,
Iss dil-e-nadaa’n main,
Unn yaado’n ke dareechay
dastak detay hain,
Kuch sawaal ubhartay hain,
Phir kuch pal khamoshi main beet’tay hain,
Kuch aansu’on main bheegtay hain,
Aur aik sada’ aati hai,
‘Ai kash, Tu mujhe jan’anay ki koshish karti!’

So this poem was sitting in the drafts box for quite a while now. Just a random thought. Pardon my poor Urdu!
I shall write endless rhymes for thee…
Ever felt bored? Like the real boredom. ‘Tis what hath happened today. It was the boring-est day for some reason because the poem below will show you how much time I had to do this while attending a class. :) *shakes head* Whenever you encounter such pieces by me, know that I had nothing else to do but let the frustration out in one way or the other. And these pre-exams posts must be annoying for you, but once the exams finish, I promise I will come back to my more ‘formal’ writing
Meanwhile enjoy something that might not even make sense to you but since it’s written, you might as well read it.
How shalt I tell ye?
How oft shalt I repeat?
“Thou are my best friend;
Thou are someone
Upon whom I hath built, oh, this trust”
How shalt I tell ye?
How oft shall this be writ?
Oh, I don’t know.
The support ye hath given me;
how ye hath stayed with me.
Through this time
And that time.
Thou are worthy;
Of, oh, this friendship!
In thy name,
I sayst today,
I have never seen someone
Like thee.
Ever before!

The one I own
I had been thinking of doing a post on friendship for quite a while now and today, this task will be accomplished too. It was somewhere last week while I was searching up something on the internet that I stumbled upon this quote on friendship by Edith Wharton:
There is one friend in the life of each of us, who seems not a separate person, however dear and beloved, but an expansion, an interpretation, of one’s self, the very meaning of one’s soul.
What a beautiful quote! We sometimes fail to realize the worth of a friend and the beautiful role they play in our life. A friend is someone who despite knowing everything about you, from strengths to weaknesses, will be your friend forever. Now that’s a strong word there
We encounter different ‘types’ of friends in our lives; some leave you on the way while some join you on journey’s way but in your lifetime, you will encounter one who will never leave you, no matter what. Yes, and that is quite possible. If you have not encountered one yet, that person is out there somewhere waiting for you. Don’t lose hope yet
If you have a good friend, treasure these times because they will never come back. As a friend said, “Distance doesn’t mean anything and it never will for friends that let the differences aside, keep it clean and honest and let you feel like you mean something to them.” These are the little things that make the big and important things. Sometimes we forget to appreciate these little things which are a big part of our life until the thought of losing them comes across.
If you have managed to read this rant till the now, all I want you to do is to let your best friend know (via email, fb, or even a personal approach) that you value them and thank them for the support they have given you through thick and thin. Life is too short.
You remind me of that butterfly,
Loving and free,
Bright and colorful,
For the world to see
